I see this went from Bill Ward to Jking and back to Bill Ward. Just wanted to touch base and see if anything can be done. It's odd to me that Domino's can block a whole lane by parking their cars sideways instead of parallel to the curb. People turning from Barrett end up unable to access and fill up both lanes on Colchester Ave and traffic gets backed up onto Grove St.

I am pretty sure that Colchester Ave does not become two northbound lanes until the bridge itself. I agree that this whole confluence of intersections is super sketchy. Thankfully there is a current study for this area, so hopefully some improvements will be forthcoming.

Thanks RJ. It's interesting that in many of the slides from Stantec for the kick off presentation for this project, they show Colchester Ave @ Mill Street as having two northbound lanes (see March 8 Presentation). My bigger point is that if the City simply required Dominos employees to park their cars parallel to the curb it would eliminate some back-ups on Barrett street in the evening. I don't know of anywhere else in the City that cars can park perpendicular to the curb, absent painted lines. This seems like a simple short term fix that could be implemented immediately.

So I THINK this can be closed. At least since Monday the Domino's employees have been parking parallel to the curb, allowing full use of a second lane in this area. Hopefully this is a practice the continues!
